We've been back just over 3 weeks and it's been an adjustment (but more on that later). I'd like to finish the travelogue on this blog for our own memories, and we do have some reflections to share on what we learned, but while we wait our kids were given this "Big Question":
"How can we use our bus to help others this Christmas season and show them Jesus' love?"
For those of you who haven't heard their plan, here it is in their own words:
New beginnings
Can you help us fill our bus this Christmas with items to help the homeless? We hope to deliver these items in the new year in Toronto. We will also be serving hot chocolate and hot apple cider from our bus, and showing people the love and hope of Jesus.
Can you help us by donating…
Warm Clothing (new items only please)
New only: Socks (wool or poly blend - no cotton) , underwear
New or like new: hats, mitts, gloves
Also accepting excellent used condition adult sized coats and boots
Personal Care items
Toothbrushes and toothpaste (thank you Dr. Sheila Wong's office in Milton)
Deodorant
Soap
Yummy Snacks
apples, bananas, clementines, Granola and/or nutra-grain bars
Hot Drinks
hot cocoa powder, apple cider mix
We are also looking for:
money to help purchase the above items
Helping hands to deliver these items, and serve hot drinks
people to visit with the homeless, listen to their stories and help connect them with social service agencies (resources will be available)
People to offer prayer
Musicians to spread joy through music
Please contact us personally, if you are interested in any of these roles.
Thank you from Seth, Emma, and Ben (and their parents)
DATE: FEBRUARY 1st (approx. 11 - 3)
Location: Moss park area - still looking for parking with plug in access. open to suggestions of other areas known to homeless.
Thank you everyone! We will have more than enough for 50 people and will still collect more this week.
Fun boxing day shopping with some financial donations - thank you!

(Look for us on FB @ 43)!
