Wow! We are overwhelmed. So many people have pitched in to help out with this effort to bring warmth to some of the homeless in Toronto this Saturday. (Keep reading. We still need help with 1 thing). Neighbours, friends, businesses, and community groups have donated needed items to keep others warm. People have donated finances to fill in the gaps (some gloves and underwear), and home made goodies and fruit to make this a welcoming gathering where we can sit and visit and share with those less fortunate. Thank you, thank you! Yesterday we picked up a box of donations collected by Halton Hills Christian School, last week we picked up underwear donated by The Milton Firepower Cross Fit She-Beasts, and Today we received a box of toothbrushes and toothpaste to clean off all those sweet treat "sugar bugs" from Dr. Shelia Wong's office in Milton. We will be picking up carafes from Milton bible church to serve hot chocolate. Thank you all, and all the friends and neighbours who donated items and finances, and encouragement! It ALL matters, it ALL helps, and we are so grateful. One last request...Who wants to come and help be a part of this on Saturday? We will take whatever time you can give. Please send me a message for details. We would love any help and are especially in need of a few more guys to join us, since as the kids have discovered in their research, most homeless people are men between the ages of 21 and 45. Let us know if you'd like to spend some time getting to know some of the homeless in our city this Saturday!

About Us

Like everyone's story, there's more to ours than what you'll see posted here.  In brief, we are a family who is trying to live simply and by our convictions, and trying to figure out what that looks like.  We make physical and relational messes like everyone else, so even if we don't lay out all our dirty laundry here, please don't think we don't have any.  Everyone does.  We've taken a sabbatical of sorts to re-set our family priorities and ask some hard questions about what we want this life of ours to be about.  We are hoping this year is about asking good questions, and listening with open ears, open eyes, open hearts to the right answers.  We're hoping we have open hands willing to do the right things for our family to make a difference in the world around us.  We love Jesus, and we know if the answers to our soul's hard questions will come from anywhere, it will come from taking time to listen to the Divine whispers within our souls.
